Remember the Women Institute, founded by Dr. Rochelle G. Saidel in 1997, conducts and encourages research and cultural activities that contribute to giving women their place in Holocaust history. Special emphasis has been on women in the context of the Holocaust and its aftermath, including other genocides and sexual violence. The Institute has influenced academic investigation and publications, as well as popular culture, by encouraging the inclusion of all humanity in Holocaust history and commemorative representations. Projects have included researching on women and the Holocaust, publishing and co-publishing, presenting events, creating exhibitions, organizing panels at conferences, consulting on films, and cooperating with individuals and other organizations to create programs, books, films, and exhibitions.
